★☆☆☆☆ I visited this place last night and asked the gentleman working there if they serve halal meat and his answers were:
"Depends on what you order"
"Ground beef and chicken I THINK are halal"
"If you order pork thats obviously not halal"
"We have non halal meat too but the preparation area is separate"..
I thanked him for being honest and left. Posted on February 17, 2015 |

★★★★★ Assalam u Alaikum Brothers/Sisters.
I always want to give a quick background of the eating scenario. I have a family of 4, who eat like we are of 8. We are from Lahore, Pakistan and review restaurants honestly and sincerely with Allah in mind.
My family was visiting the Guelph area to browse the University of Guelph campus. After a day of looking at every corner of the school campus and complexes, our heads were aching due to hunger. We arrived at Pizza Town (knowing before it was halal) and found that it was closed on Sunday. We were disappointed until we read that it opens on Sundays at 3PM, so we went to the Jame Masjid and prayed and then returned to find it open. The owner (as stated before by a recent reviewer) is a truly genuine man. He is an upfront and sincere person, who was kind enough to tell us where the meat is from, the basis of the business, the family that runs the business, and more information about the Guelph area. He told us the MSA group of the University comes to Pizza Town whenever they want to eat something, which was enlightening. I would also have to say that he had an emerging 'zabiba' or 'prayer bumb' which really indicated to my family and I that he was a man of faith. Getting to the food, we really wanted to try the burgers more than the pizza (since you don't find halal burgers everywhere). Unfortunately, he had just run out of the burgers, but he insisted that we could find something else. We then looked at another Zabihah reviewer's comment about the Tandoori Chicken Pizza, which we ordered. We also ordered a pound of chicken wings in honey garlic sauce, and four sodas. He gave us the TV remote and told us we should feel free to watch whatever we wanted as he was in the back making the food with his wife, which only made us feel like we belonged there for one reason or another. We sat on the stools at one of the two tables for about 25 minutes, and then he brought the pizza in a box and the wings in a container. We opened them up and the pizza looked high-quality, much like Pizza Hut's signature 'brown-dotted' pizza and the wings were deliciously cripsy-looking (we ordered the baked ones instead of the deepfried ones). The pizza was delicious, and the tandoori chicken was nice and the absolute perfect spicy, which we all just went crazy for. The cheese stretched quite far, we really made the pizza stand out. The wings were golden-cripsy. The honey garlic sauce was the perfect thickness, and the taste was literally melting in our mouths, it was fantastic. We really thought since we didn't get the burgers that we would need something else, but in fact, we each had about 2 slices and 2 wings with one soda each, and we were full (don't forget, Sunnah is to fill only 1/3 of your stomach!). In the end, we wanted to thank the owner for the delicious food. He said it was a family-owned business so they haven't hired any workers. He said he has been there for many years and has been serving halal all his life. He said people come and go everyday, and in fact people did come to eat while we were eating. They also have fresh garlic naan and butter chicken, korma, and such, and every other day or so they have chicken briyani. Overall, we absolutely enjoyed eating there. We thanked him for the meal, and he asked for our prayers in return. Our total was $28, which we felt was completely reasonable, especially for the quality of the pizza. I would recommend every brother and sister to support their fellow Muslims who have opened halal businesses to serve halal food to the Muslim community. Halal business is Sunnah and these business strive on our support, so please do so or atleast pray for them. In the end, this was a great experience for us, and my son said he will definitely eat here if he happens to go to U of Guelph. Please pray for us, InshaAllah.

★★★☆☆ A nice faily run Business. een there a few times as it is the only decent place in the area with Halal chicken wings option.
Tried their Pizza once too which was not very good but the Wings are always pretty decent. Their Sauces arenot the greatest but usually we do bring the home & use our Own Sauces. Usually the Bottles of hot Sauce from Galitos in Mississauga. Posted on December 29, 2011 |
