The menus at this restaurant clearly state that Halal food is served. From the management: 'We use 100% Halal meat that is free from hormones and antibiotics'

★☆☆☆☆ I used to go to this place often as their biryani is very good. There was this new girl at the cash register today, probably a new hire. She seemed latina to me. That's not the problem. The problem is she has a BIG attitude issue. She confused my order up and when I told her to correct it, she made all sorts of nasty faces, turned her back to me while I was talking to her and vanished into the kitchen. I went back to my seat, waiting for her to come out. When she did come out, I went up to her to check if the problem was resolved. Well what do you know, she gives me the attitude again and says "I know how to do my job". We ended up leaving the place with our food packed up, instead of enjoying the meal there like was planned.
I am not giving the restaurant a poor rating, just one of their employees. I just wanted to make all of you aware of her. If she does give you the attitude, please don't hesitate complaining about her to the manager. Good restaurants shouldn't lose customers because of rude employees. Posted on June 13, 2013 |

★★☆☆☆ The food is delicious. It is halal, and yes there are Hindu gods on the walls... but I've found a lot of hindu-run restaurants serve halal in this area so that isn't much of a deterrent for me.
The reason why I gave it such a low rating is because the first time we went they had meals with came with meat, rice, and bread. The meat (in our case, butter chicken) was TONS of sauce with a little meat, but it was good so we were forgiving. The last time we went EVERYTHING was a la carte. We paid $9 for a container of butter chicken which had maybe 6 bite-size pieces. We spent $34 on two containers of butter chicken and some naan... and they weren't very generous, either. We used rice from home. Posted on November 3, 2012 |

★☆☆☆☆ I normally don't provide reviews. But I was compelled to write one so that others who read the reviews are able to make informed decision/choice before get to this place. So here goes,
1. The place is NOT owned by a muslim as claimed by this website or someone who commented for this restaurant. It is owned by a Hindu from India. I was 100% certain of this when I saw the Ganesha idol (a Hindu God) in the restaurant. The only thing that claims the food is 'Halal' is a A4 sheet printout at the entrance in 'arabic'. I did not find ANYTHING else Islamic about this place. Unfortunately for us, we realized this mid-way in our meal (I had taken my family for dinner to this place). Although, the place is 'managed' by a muslim (as claimed). When I inquired with him (as I suspicious of the surroundings mid-way in our meal) where he gets his meat from he kept saying he gets from NJ (he couldn't tell from where).
2. The taste of food was way below par as far as authenticity is concerned. Neither the ambience nor the service can be classified as conducive to a peaceful meal, leave alone Islamic. I went to this place after reading the reviews from this website. And I must say, this is the first time in the past 12yrs, I have been utterly disappointed!......
3. I would NEVER return to this place for many reasons, and taste is the last of them. The first reason being the 'halal'ness, second, the quality of service/ambience and third the taste, it's aweful! Posted on May 11, 2012 |

★★★★☆ Fantastic. The heat levels here are Desi for sure, so be warned. They do not skimp on the masala. The rice that comes with your dish is 1/2 plain white, and 1/2 jeera with a touch of chili, and all cooked to perfection. I've tried 3 kinds of breads, all perfect. Butter chicken? Tops. Chicken 65? Oh so good. Hakka Fried Rice? Quite nice. Glad to have such good food close to home. Posted on April 13, 2012 |

★★★★☆ The manger confirmed the halal status as he himself is a muslim (the management changed sometime back... don't know who the previous owners were) and they get everything from New Jersey. I loved the Chicken Biryani (you can pick your spice: Mild, Medium or Hot), the Hariyali chicken was medium (was like palak curry ... I ordered it thinking that it was dried marinated chicken). The over all experience was excellent... the manager kindly served us hot tea after the dinner. Also, I went there after viewing their ad on ZEE TV (they are a chain of widespread restaurants). I would recommend the Biryani to all! Posted on February 22, 2012 |

★★★☆☆ We visited this restaurant recently and were not very impressed. The biriyani was very spicy even though we ordered medium. The meat was tender (goat) but mostly bones. When a dish is too spicy, you miss the subtle aromatic flavors that are normally associated with high quality biriyani. We also ordered a chilli chicken dish and that was simply horrible...it was too salty and the chicken was dry and way overcooked. We complained about the chilli chicken and they remade it for us but it still had the same problems. The place did have many other customers who seemed to enjoy the food. The tables and chairs were comfortable and the dinner and silverware were nice. The staff were nice, helpful and accomodating. Maybe you will enjoy the place. As for us, we're done!
