★★★★★ Excellent Chapli Kababs, lamb shank and mantu here. Their Afghani pulao is also terrific and not to be missed. Best Afghan food in Houston. Posted on August 28, 2015 |

★★★★☆ Excellent food and atmosphere . A little expensive and slow service . We ordered Bolani, mantoo,Aush soup and tandoori chicken all of them were great ! Posted on October 6, 2014 |

★★★★★ I love the food here! Consider it a fusion of Pakistani and Arab food. Arab dishes with Pakistani seasoning! The service is a bit slow but the food is worth it. The restaurant is nice and it makes for a great evening out with family or friends. Its a bit on the pricey side but that's to be expected for the quality of product they offer! I have tried just about every type of kabob and am yet to have one I don't like! Posted on July 22, 2014 |

★★★★★ This place is AMAZING!! Big spacious dining area, tastefully decorated, good service and Awesome food!! Kabli pulo and chappal kebabs are incredible!! We've visited this place several times and loved it. Often we get take out after we've finished our meal there.
Totally awesome experience! Posted on January 24, 2014 |

★★★★★ Oh M Gee! Their food is so good! We had the combination platter - chicken Posted on September 14, 2013 |

★★★★☆ Food is great but for some reason their Qabuli pulao is seasoned the same way. I was informed that their original chef has passed away :'(. I will definitly take away 1 start for their service. It seems like a family run operation and they always seem to be frustrated and short staffed on busy nights. Make sure you order Plenty of naan from the get go or you may be waiting for a while unless you want to walk up to their counter and ask for help. Posted on July 26, 2013 |

★★★★★ We had a great dinner here. The food is spicier than I was expecting afghani cuisine to be, but that is right up our alley. Had the kabuli palao with lamb, and chappli kabab and also tried the chicken curry. The meat was tender and flavorful. The place has a nice sitting area, there is a big screen tv that I don't care for much. It is family friendly, and the staff is nice as well. Posted on May 14, 2013 |

★★★★☆ Being new to Houston, I am working my way down the list on this website. After going to a Pakistani restaurant in the same shopping center only to find they were out of rice, I decided to try this Afghani restaurant.
I got the Chicken Curry, Naan and Basmati Rice. My husband and I agreed that the Chicken Curry was WAY TOO SPICY for our taste, though others love it that way. The Basmati Rice was really good, I ended up eating the entire container myself.
We may try other things depending on the spice level. We are not able to tolerate super spicy foods. Posted on April 27, 2013 |

★★★★☆ Awesome chappli kabab and naan. Really good afghani pulao but only for those who enjoy eating savory and sweet together. Posted on January 6, 2013 |

★★★★★ Delicious food. I've tried almost every meat dish. Posted on January 30, 2012 |

★★★★★ Love this place. The afghan pilau is the best! Other items are pretty good too. Didn't like the borhani, very bland and salty. Service is simply great - down to earth and polite people.
Last summer the AC was broken, so it was hard to sit inside the restaurant in the Houston heat. But that didn't matter, we go there all the time. Posted on December 9, 2011 |

★★★★☆ I am pleased that there is an Afghan restaurant close by to me and its authentic too. The food was excellent. I have been here many times and tried my favorites. I love the bolani, mantu, chapli, & Kabuli Pilaf. Give it a try and support this halal family-owned restaurant. Oh, and btw, if you are a fan of spicy food than you will enjoy their selections. If not, let them know to make it mild. Posted on December 1, 2011 |

★★★★☆ The food tastes are mercurial, se times the Chapli kabobs are the beat on town, other times it could go down a few notches. Service is just bad Posted on November 11, 2011 |

★★★★★ Good authentic Afghan food like the way it should be. Good ambiance, menu choices, and decent prices. A place worth checking out if you are in the mood for tasty Afghani BBQ. Posted on September 12, 2011 |

★★★★★ Great place for Afghan food. I usually order the bolani, Qubli Palao, Chapli Kabob, and Chicken kabob. They've updated the decor, which is nice. Not sure why the place is not more crowded. Posted on December 28, 2010 |

★★★★★ Great food, the best food we had so far in the Houston area, we had the Challow Kabob, Quabili Pallow Posted on November 30, 2010 |

★★★★★ My family lives in an adjacent neighborhood and we've ordered from here for years. Never been disappointed. I currently live in Virginia where there are authentic afghan joints all over --- I will still say that this place is better than any place I've been to in VA. It has the best chapali kabob I've ever tasted and everything else I've had has been great as well. I've introduced friends to this restaurant and every one of them now eat here on a consistent basis. Posted on August 25, 2010 |

★☆☆☆☆ Visited the place after 8 months with out of town guest, was disappointed about the quality of food it used to be. Afghan pilaw did not had lamb shank it used to have, instead they have added chicken cube, I think it is due to rising meat cost but their current prices are high too now. Service quality is declining in comparision. The size of chapli kabab is shrunk and lamb chops were extremely hard. Great disappointment. We (family of 5) visit different restaurants each week but conclude that this Afgan was once best in town now not even worth to visit anymore until they really revert the quality back to original. I am sure they know the afghan food business but I think their priority is to make money and leave quality aside. Posted on May 8, 2010 |

★★★★★ Authentic Afghan Cuisine. They do not cater to American customers therefore the authenticity of Afghan cuisines is maintained.
Their Chapli kabob and kabuli Palao is the best in Houston. BAR NONE!
Service could use some improvement. Posted on December 22, 2009 |

★★☆☆☆ I like the selection they have here.. and that there is finally an Afghan Cuisine in town.. which makes everything nice. One thing is... is that they need better waiters and service. They have young kids helping out.. who dont even know how to greet and offer the customers what they want. They need experianced waiters.. who know how to talk and offer service. Also you have to ask for cutlery and napkins.. even though they should already be on the table. The food is overly salty and spicy. They need to turn that down a notch. I couldnt even eat my chicken with spinach because an overdose of sodium! My sisters dish was supposed to come with soup but they forgot to give it to her.. so she had to ask for it... I think they need to do a bit better.. Posted on April 29, 2009 |

★★★★★ I became a big fan of Afghani cuisine after living in NY for 15 years and dining at the best Afghani restaurant Kabul Kabob in Flushing, Queens. After moving to Houston, I was unable to find anything close to Kabul Kabob until last week (Nov 7, 2008) when I picked up food from Afghan Cuisine. The Chef came outside to talk to me and my wife. He let us taste some of his favorite sauces and explain what went in each one. He went to a culinary institute in L.A. He has experience in different countries like Germany and in my eyes did an amazing job with our food. The place is clean and very simple. You feel at home and the food is the best in Houston!!! I will be going there once a month for sure. Posted on November 10, 2008 |

★★★★★ I cannot say enough about the food here!!! We went there last weekend and ordered Qubulih, it was sooo good. We heard so much about the food here. It was best food we had in houston. I recomend to everyone. Posted on October 11, 2008 |

★★★★★ I've been to this restaurant 5 or 6 times atleast and never had any problems. The food was always good and on time. Never ever had problem with the bill. The owners are from Afghanistan and speak farsi. The only way anything can get messed up is if you don't confirm what you ordered. Best Afghani food I've had anywhere. Nice clean restaurant. Suitable to take guests. Posted on July 12, 2008 |

★★★★★ I was recomended to this one by our family memebers who were taken to this restaurant when they visited Houston.
We tried their Chalow Chicken, Chapa kabab and Lamb chops. All items tasted good.
thiis is not on the main drag on Hilcroft, kinda 15 minute away, but it was worth it. Posted on June 4, 2008 |
