★★★★★ very tasty food. i tried sheesh kabob roll in fresh paratha, you can get it in roti also.
a hyderabadi lady is the main chef.
the street address is misleading, this is on devon also, just on a side street beside punjabi dhaba Posted on March 18, 2012 |

★★☆☆☆ I was looking for one good zabihah restaurant to enjoy its food and I found this one with all the good reviews. However, I found those reviews misleading. the food was below average. Also, I ordered one chicken dash that does not contain any chicken?! Another thing we had trouble communicating with the waiter since his English was bad. In addition, the table was dirty even after we asked the waiter to clean it. He left wet! The only positive thing I remember from this experience is that the price for two persons was only $11. ★★★★☆ I went on a very hot day but there were no ACs or fans which was a bit disappointing! the restaurant has a nice decore! the prices are pretty good! Taste is above average! Posted on July 23, 2011 |

|
★★★★★ This is the most genuine and authentic Hyderabadi food that you will find on Devon. It is even cooked by a nice, genuine, authentic Hyderabadi aunty! Everything is good but the daily specials are awesome and they are usually dishes that you will not find elsewhere on Devon. Posted on June 27, 2011 |

★★★★★ pure hyderabadi food at its best!!! the chicken boti is the besttt!!!! Posted on December 26, 2010 |

★★★★★ When I go to Devon I only eat here. It's the only place that has authentic hyderabadi food. My favorite is the Bihari kabob and the chicken nori skewer. It's really spicy but it really is satisfying and it's right next to the masjid which is convenient Posted on October 12, 2010 |

★★★★★ Very good Hyderabadi food. Bihari kabob is awesome and we order this everytime. Friendly staff and nice location near Jami masjid. Needs a litttle renovation of bathrooms etc. Posted on July 31, 2010 |

★★★★☆ I went into this restaurant because of its close proximity to the masjid, but I kept returning for the rest of the week that I was in the area. Great food, good pricing & portions. I would have liked a selection of sodas or juices & salad on the menu though. Posted on April 19, 2008 |

★★★★☆ IF U WANT TO PURE EAT HOME COOKED HYDERABADI FOOD THIS IS THE PLACE.CLEAN AND NICE AND VERY CHEAP. Posted on September 3, 2007 |

★★★★☆ If you're looking for some down to earth hyderabadi homemade style cooking, sheesh mahal is the place. Ive eaten there many times and never been dissapointed. They should increase the portions though. Posted on August 6, 2007 |

★★★★★ I always enjoy coming here for authentic food. Great family friendly restaurant. Posted on July 3, 2007 |

★★★★☆ Prices are reasonable. Biryanis are above average. Haleem is too oily. Pepper chicken kabab is a must eat. Their chicken 65 meal is very good. All meals are good but only served on one day. I wish they would rotate the days for their meals so you can try different ones. This way if you can only make it on Saturday you have different meal rather than chicken 65 every Saturday. ★★★★☆ If you want home made roti and paratha than go here. Good place to eat and not expensive at all. Posted on October 11, 2005 |

★★★★★ Wonderful Hyderabadi food! High quality, low quantity! I hope the owner reads this because he is going to lose business if he doesn't increase his portions :) Posted on February 14, 2004 |

★★☆☆☆ Assalam alikum, I was in chicago on the memorial weekend, and happen to visit this restaurant on maplewood st. on devon beside the jamia masjid and i was really surprised and thanked my lucky stars for having visited this awesome place which is neatly decorated and and serves the most authentic and delicious hyderabadi cuisine i ever tasted in america !! no kidding!!their grill chicken and the juicy behari kebabas and the most tasty chiken and lamb biryani were a real treat along with the traditional khubani desert and the mirchi ka salan lippsmacking!! the service was very prompt and courteous and i along with my family and friends who were visiting from the middle east and u.k.just enjoyed the sumptuous treat at the Dhaba restaurant and i felt obligated to write some words about this place i recommend it to all food lovers to visit it while on devon and the food is a 100%zabiha for i am told the owner himself does slaughter the animals , i wish this place all the success. jazzakallah khair. ★★★★★ One of the best restaurants in whole of Chicago and North America. Food cooked with a Touch of Hyderabadi Style makes it the first choice to eat outside. Posted on October 18, 2002 |

★★☆☆☆ "Since the renovation, the restaurant's food taste is not up to mark what it used to be before." Posted on August 7, 2002 |

★☆☆☆☆ "Are you kidding? The $5 meal we had included parathas, and a lamb spinach curry which had just ONE lamb piece in it.Even if a meal is for one person,I've never seen just one small piece of meat. The spinach itself just tasted of water. The black pepper chicken was just that-black. To top it off, we had to collect our own plates and silverware(plasticware), napkins and glasses to bring back to our table. I know it is cheap eats but come on now. We really wouldn't have minded if the food was good. Only the parathas were decent. It was a very disappointing experience." Posted on July 30, 2002 |

★★★★★ This restaurant is by far my most favorite on Devon Avenue. The setting is warm and relaxed, and the food is VERY tasty. Service is exceptional and wait times are minimal. Whenever I take people out, I bring them to this restaurant. Fabulous place, mashaAllah. Posted on July 17, 2002 |

★★★★★ "This place has the best food on Devon. No way is it a dhaba. It has five-isstaar lighting an' all. Family room too. Yum, yum, yum." Posted on May 23, 2002 |

★★★★★ On one of my visits to Devon I saw this nicely decorated restaurant .I thought decoration is good and was apprehensive about the taste, but when I tried one of there grill items called pepper chicken it was really good, since then it has become a ""must stop"", on every visit to Devon Ave. All there dishes have a typical hyderabadi taste. There food is simply appetizing and delectable. My search for a good and hygienic food ended at this restaurant. Posted on March 15, 2002 |

★★★★★ "Absolutely delicious food! This is the only place in Chicago, which has serves the most authentic Hyderabadi food. You can trust the owner for providing 100% Zabiha . The service can be a bit slow, but that's only because everything is prepared fresh. " Posted on March 14, 2002 |

★★★★★ After eating at dozens of desi eateries in the US I have finally found this place to be the best in all of America. I hope they maintain their quality. The biryani is the best you can find anywhere and the Pepper Chicken and Bihari Kebab along with the Boti Kebab are the best grilled items in North America. The best part about this place is that everything is made fresh, nothing is stored and recycled. Because of that however there is very limited salans available - only 2-3 a day as specials. But for grilled items this place cannot be beat Posted on May 21, 2001 |

★★★★★ "Unbelievable food. Hope they maintain the good quality and generous portions. Limited seating. The Bagara khana, Dalcha, and Phalli-ka-saalan reminds you of typical Hyderabadi taste. They are next door to the Jama' masjid. Plenty of masjid parking. Owner is some guy named Mr. Rayees. Guarantees zabiha, and can be trusted" Posted on March 18, 2001 |

★★★★★ Excellent Biryani, great Tandoori chicken. After eating at this place I had them cater to 3 parties already. Guaranteed zabiha meat, is the best part Posted on January 11, 2001 |
