The menus at this restaurant clearly state that Halal food is served. From the menu: 'All of our food is prepared 100% Halal'.

★★★★★ Been here handful of times already. Very good food and even a better place to sit and have dinner. The ambiance of the place is really nice.
I have tried the NY strip steak, filet mignon (that's right halal filet mignon), the ribeye, and carnivore platter. The masala fries were very unique and a great addition to the meal.
My favorite though was the spicy fried fish.
They also have nonalcoholic specialty drinks (mocktails) like pina coloda and mojitos.
The service can lag sometimes, but they are still new so I think they will fix the minor issues in time. Posted on July 1, 2013 |

★★★☆☆ The place itself is nice which is rare with Pakistani restaurants but sadly the food is just average. I went with my family so we tried various things including the "recommended steak" which had way too much sauce to be a steak! I would be willing to give it a second chance, but not many more. The staff and owner were very friendly and frankly, i was hoping the food would impress! Posted on July 22, 2014 |

★★★★☆ Its a really nice restaurant on the inside but I was disappointed with the buffet. It was mostly breakfast items that were sitting there for a while. The pancakes turned rock hard and the egg started changing color and texture by the time I got there. The nihari was good. Ordering off the menu is also on the high side. I would check it out at least once. Posted on October 15, 2013 |

★★★★☆ Decor is great. Food is overpriced and whatever. Masala fries sound nice but the are just regular frozen fries dipped in a masala batter that's not even spicy. Disappointing. The short ribs however are AMAZING. Like melt in your mouth good. The fried rice is just onion flavored rice , disappointing. The portions are small. Will only return for the ribs. ★☆☆☆☆ I waited a little bit to post my review. I ordered to go from there, and it was an overall awkward experience. I asked for a to-go menu and the boy at the desk kept handing me the large restaurant menus. He didn't understand what a take out menu was. After some moments of awkwardness the owner came (he was sitting on a table drinking green mocktails with the lady who answered my phone call later on) and gave me a take out menu. Then when I placed the order on the phone, the girl (mentioned before) who took my order was just not trained. In the middle of the order that I was giving to her she started to ask me "how I was doing, and how she liked her food spiiiiicy." Again, I don't mind small talk here and there, but it was in the middle of me giving my order to her (very strange and hard to explain the details in this post). I asked her a question about the menu items, and she was not familiar with anything, and just read to me what was already written ON the menu. When I went to pick up the food a few minutes later, they gave me the food and walked away, without collecting the money for the food. I had to find someone to pay for the items.
The food itself was not worth the price, especially not the burgers with jalapenos and a spicy sauce. It tasted like something any desi mom can whip up, and it was not spicy at all, even though I told them to make it very spicy. I guess the jalapenos were mixed into the ground beef and I couldn't find the spicy sauce ?
I would not return, it just wasn't worth it with all the nearby options that we have today. Yea, the place looked nice but it didn't match with all the confusion inside the restaurant and some of the menu items. Posted on August 6, 2013 |

★★★★☆ Nice ambiance and great food. The grill items are awesome and the short ribs are just too good. Now when it comes to Steak most people from the Asian community prefer Well Done. Well if that's what you're going to ask for this is what you're going to get.....
' WELL DONE = OVER COOKED, DRY, BURNT, TASTELESS CHUNK OF MEAT - A recipe for disaster Period! Steak is one cut of meat that isn't supposed to be eaten well done. You should order Medium Well if you want juicy with no pink. I love the selection of Mocktails and Iced Teas at this restaurant. Iftaar Buffet was a grand affair and simply delicious. Prices are reasonable, Steaks are expensive but that's expected as they are in every American Steakhouse in fact much more pricey than Jal. Management and staff are very friendly but the service can be somewhat slow and scattered especially when the restaurant is really busy. They seriously need to get to grips with this as it's the only factor that will let the business down. Posted on July 26, 2013 |

★★☆☆☆ Unfortunately, I don't have many good things to say about this restaurant. I've gone there twice and had bad experiences both times. They do not know how to prepare a steak, so if that's your reason for going, you will have better luck making one at home. Their ribs are good, but only if not overcooked like their steaks. Everything else on the menu is over priced for what you get. Their "mocktails" are nothing special either.
They do have a nice atmosphere, but service is slow and staff is untrained. If you go there when they are busy, you will see lots of customers complaining and asking to speak with the manager. The first time I went, the experience was so bad that I felt it had to be an off night so I gave them another chance. No real improvement. For the kind of money you pay to eat here, you want your food and service to also be taken up a notch. Posted on July 25, 2013 |

★★★★★ Located in a shopping strip, but feels like a Ziggy's in SanFran inside with modern design including Euro style lighting and wood floors - a nice change from typical desi style Houston zabihah spots. This is a sit down ala carte restaurant and assuming a buffet for ramadan - not fast food. Mostly chair/table setup with a few booths (5 or so). We went for iftaar and place was half full 30 min before but max capacity 5 min before. The hostess kindly accommodated us with our baby stroller. The chairs were quite comfortable and the plates/silverware were all in line with modern design. We were provided iftaar on the house with a nice large jug of RoohAfza, dates, and samosas. The waiters seemed to be in tune with our holy month offering directions to the masjid around the corner about a minute walk - the gentleman (assuming the owner) even offered to come outside and show us where to go. The buffet food was all mild in spice (chili) level according to us but everything seemed fresh and up to standards. The rib eye steak was pretty good though I cannot compare to anything as an only zabihah eater there are no options for a nice steak in Houston and home barBQ-ing is infrequent. Overall we had a nice experience and did not come out of the place smelling like the food we ate. Prices were fair for the level of investment in food quality and the decor which I do highly appreciate. One funny thing did happen though - after a plate of 4 samosas was placed on our table - at some point it became a plate of 2 samosas...yes, well before iftaar. Houston has the zabihah/organic food desiring Muslims, especially in this area, who are willing to dine out in places like this more frequently if available - wish the restaurant owners in town realize this. Keep up the food quality and service and we'll be back... Posted on July 21, 2013 |

★★★☆☆ I agree that the atmosphere is great. It is good to have a halal option to take guests, or have a nice dinner in a clean place without it smelling like tandoori all the time. The food was tasty as well; had the carnivore platter (only behari kabab not so good), and their spicy burger, which was excellent!
The following I hope is taken as constructive criticism:
A note to the owner/manager, please train your staff or kindly learn how to train them. They were confused the entire time, which resulted in not getting a menu for 10 mins, then waiting for a while for someone to take our order, then multiple people coming and asking to take our order! Then getting refills when you are ready to leave, and not getting a pen along with the bill to sign it. Looking around (since we were waiting a lot) other tables were having similar issues. These are all resolvable though. Don't get me wrong, every one was really nice, just REALLY disorganized. If that gets in order, this is a five star place for sure! Posted on July 15, 2013 |
