★★★★★ seriously good food. try the beed rendang, satay and chicken curry. definitely get the fried banana... the caramel sauce is to die for! Posted on July 21, 2015 |

★★★★★ Absolutely love this place. I am tired of regular kabob places and desi restaurants. Satay Sarinah is such a refreshing change! Try their fried rice, satay's or any of the soups.
If you like desi food only or are my dad, then you won't like this place. However, if this world is your oyster and you have a flair for experiencing different foods and cultures, you will love this place! Posted on June 4, 2013 |

★☆☆☆☆ I came here back in 2007 and I have not been back since. Coming from a country where satay and other menu items are the local food, I am disappointed by the portion size, flat flavor, and high price. I hope they have improved their portion size as well as flavor because I know how half the food there should look and taste like...and they're off the mark! Posted on February 16, 2013 |

★★★★★ Places like Satay are what make Northern VA great for Muslims. It adds alot of great diversity to the options available for good, quality halal eating. Satay is one of my favorite halal restaurants. I'm not Indonesian, nor had I ever tried Indonesian food prior to coming here, but I love it. It's very flavorful and always good. I always order the Sarinah fried rice, with a side of beef satay skewers. You can get beef, chicken or lamb skewers, covered in peanut sauce. They're really good.
They have some very spicy dishes that are just delicious. The spicy grilled chicken is the best thing on the menu. The spicy beef stew is also a big hit when I go with friends. I don't do spicy so much anymore, so I just get fried rice, which is served with a fried egg on top and a side of rice chips and pickled veggies. It's very different food from what I'm used to, but I love it. I'll be honest, I have tried a few dishes there that I really didn't like. They just didn't suit my taste. There is however enough on the menu though to keep you satisfied.
Their appetizers are also really good. The potato croquettes are so delicious. The dumplings are ok too. Everyone loves their fried banana dessert, I'm not much of a fan, I think it's better at Thai restaurants, but it's not bad.
The place is very nice and clean. It's a great dine-in spot with great service. The staff is very, very friendly and take good care of you. The food can be a bit pricey, but I usually don't end up finishing, so I'll have food left over for later too. Posted on August 23, 2012 |

★★★★★ Excellent ambience. Bring your significant other here. Or your mom. This is not a place for loud muslim brother packs to come chill at. It's better than that. This is a place where romantic words can be seen floating over the tables. Ok not really but you get the idea.
The food is above average, possibly excellent. Warning: theres quite a bit of delicious ethnic food for those of you who live off of surrounding kabob joints. Stop by and give it a shot. Make sure you bring lots of cash to pay for your high-class feeding. Posted on January 3, 2011 |

★★★★★ I go here all the time and everything on their menu is awesome; the Javanese Fried Rice, Mixed Satay, and Avacado Chocolate Smoothie are my favorites. Their website online specifically states that they use high quality halal meat and ingredients. The place is nice and quiet and the staff is very friendly. Posted on November 28, 2010 |

★★★☆☆ Went here for dinner tonight. The Good: Service is fast, friendly and efficient. The Bad (not so good): the food is average. The chicken satay was OK as was the spicy beef and the spicy rice with chicken and shrimp. The other interesting thing about this place is the menu. I found it to be lacking in choices. Although I have never had indonesian cuisine before, it was average tasting at best, for me. Posted on November 23, 2010 |

★★★★☆ The food was a nice refreshing change from all of the "kabob" joints in the DC area. I thought the fried rice and the beef satay were really good, as well as the fried banana dessert. The beef rendang was good too.
True, they do serve alcohol, but the meat is legit. The owners did show regret and embarrassment for serving alcohol but I am in no place to judge.
Overall, great service, good food, and a nice change of pace. Posted on August 11, 2009 |

★★☆☆☆ They serve alcohol. Service was very good and friendly, however, the food did not measure up. Each of orders were not hot and did not seem fresh. The only saving grace was the beef satay and the fried banana dessert. Posted on February 2, 2009 |
