★★★★★ I'm a little bit of a conservative when it comes to giving out 5 stars. When I eat at a restaurant, and the next day I find myself still dreaming about the food from the night before, that for me, is a five star experience.
That's exactly what happened. I ate there last night and I'm wanting to go back today.
I'm suddenly obsessed with this place. It's not a fine dining establishment by any stretch, but has that classic, hole-in-the-wall awesomeness. Very casual Deli in Grocery market
This is a real find for me and my wife, who are from Pakistan. For me, this is the best Indian food in San Diego.
NIHARI - This is my favorite dish from childhood. Very difficult to find on any menu. We loved it . It's similar to a beef stew. Garnished with fresh ginger and cilantro. Very subtle, but distinctive.
Haleem was just perfect. Eating here reminds me of home cooked food that I enjoyed while in Pakistan!! Posted on March 6, 2014 |

★★★★★ We have been eating at Bismillah for few years. We went there this weekend to see their new location in the market. We were pleasantly suprise to see substantial price reduction and decent variety in Combos. We ordered Lamb chops, Goat haleem & Nihari platters. It came with Naan & sald included for 9.99 each. For 30 four of us ate decent meal. Food quality was excellent, it came out hot in roughly 12 minutes. Overall I am happy to see reduced prices and faster service. We realy didnt care about dinning in Deli format. All we were looking for was good meal , Bismillah did not disappoint us. I am definitely coming back for their other platters & 5.99 lunch combos. NR After reading all the positive reviews I was so excited to go there .... But when we arrived it was a big shock; as we entered there was a typical smell (it's a grocery store/ butcher) so we went to Aladdin Cafe next door and it was too good (personal preference) Posted on December 31, 2014 |

NR Very flavorful North Indian cuisine!!
I am writing this review strictly on what I order when I go there: Chicken Karahi, Garlic Naan and a side of rice.
PROS:
- The chicken karahi is addicting...it is VERY good. The thick sauce is full of flavor, has great consistency ( and has the right amount of spice (spicy but not overwhelmingly spicy). The chicken is very tender and almost melts in your mouth.
- The Naan is made perfectly. Plenty of garlic flavor (which I like) without it being too overpowering.
- Basmati Rice is flavorful and has nice texture.
CONS:
- Service isn't the best. However, they are almost always busy when I walk in so it's understandable.
- Not the best-looking establishment but I believe they are doing some renovations currently so I may update this review
CONCLUSIONS:
Definitely try this place out if you enjoy indian food. They have phenomenal chicken karahi that keeps me coming back...just be sure to order it for pick up if you are short on time. Usually I call them 30 to 45 mines ahead of time. Posted on December 30, 2014 |

★★★★★ Amazing Indian food. We ordered chicken tikka masala and naan, seekh kebab, paneer tikka masala. Everything tasted fabulous! Definitely coming back and bringing all our friends too!
The dining was full. Pretty soon there was a huge line of people waiting to pick up food.Food was served within 20 minutes. Everyting was fresh and juicy. On the way back to Hotel we also picked up snacks and other essential grocery. I like this model. While waiting for food we did our groceries. Posted on December 30, 2014 |

NR This place is like hole in the wall especially when you compare other Halal Pakistani or Indian food in San Diego. There are not that many Halal options in San Diego. We were vacationing in San Diego for 4 days. First 2 days we did not know about this place. 3rd day we asked our Cab driver for recommendation and he asked us if wanted Food or ambience. We were craving for GOOD food so choice was obvious. He took us to this Hala Market that has two food outlets Desi food called "Bismillah Kabob-n-Curry" and Halal Mexican food called "Casa Medina Mexican Grill" .
We tried Kadai Chicken , Nihari & Lamb Chops. Lamb chops were succulent , Nihari & Kadai chicken was very tasty. Next day it was no brainer to try their Mexican food. I had never eaten Beef or Chicken at any Mexican restaurant so was bit anxious. It was risk worth taking Tacos & Burritos were juicy, red chilli & Chipotle sauce were amazing. Overall Food was great. Prices are almost 30-40% less what we paid in Downtown San Diego. Posted on November 11, 2014 |

★★★★★ BKC now has moved to a location right in front of where it used to be. They have introduced a concept of express service wherein you order and the food is served very quickly. Their Haleem tastes quite good. I strongly recommend this restaurant to folks looking for some Haleem and Lamb chops. Posted on March 7, 2014 |

★★★★★ Deliious food! I could honestly say everything here is good, but if you want some dishes that are on the safe side and not too spicy, I'd say go with : Paneer tikka masala, Garlic naan,or aloo , and of course the chicken tikka masala. All dishes are excellent and best part not pricy. Every dish of 16 oz or more comes with Naan or rice. Posted on March 6, 2014 |

★★★★★ This is a new setting of the BKC ! Its back !!
Casual setting. In store dinning area. If you want a quick Halal desi treat, and don't have an hour or two to sit in, you've got to swing by.You can't miss some of the specialities. Our favorite -- the Haleem! We end up getting some packed for take away too ! Posted on March 6, 2014 |
