★☆☆☆☆ Let me shed a tear for Allah Rakha. This place has a great location, decor, and a game room for kid only *cough cough*, but the food is not good.
Whenever, I pass by this restaurant, I ask my Mrs. 'Should we eat here?' and then we both laugh at my joke. It doesnt get old.
But I wish, the owners would look at these reviews and pick up the phone and call Chef Ramsey to do a kitchen nightmare episode for them. Afterwards I will come to this place.
So much potential but so little love and effort put into the food. Posted on September 26, 2016 |

★★★★☆ I went there a few days ago and had the Beef Kabab. I was there on travel for work. I really liked the decor, the bathrooms were very clean, and the ambiance very good. The Kababs with 2 huge nans were also pretty good. I would go there again. Posted on September 4, 2016 |

★★★☆☆ Good atmosphere, food average, little pricy, lot of choices Posted on July 26, 2015 |

★★☆☆☆ Unfortunately I've had to go here several times because of being invited by others in the family who wanted to eat here. The buffet food is terrible 90% of the time and barely mediocre the other 10% of the time. Last time we made the mistake of buying sweets - which were stale and tasted like they'd gone bad. Service seems to have gotten better since they first opened (or maybe our expectations are lower now!)
It's no surprise that the restaurant is empty unless there is a party/event being hosted here. The atmosphere is definitely nice if you're looking to host an event, but don't expect good food!
As a last resort, we had to go here for weekend breakfast one Sunday. Got there 30 minutes past when breakfast is supposed to start (according to their sign), but the restaurant was closed. The cook was inside and came out to tell us that the staff (one waiter!) hasn't shown up yet so they can't open the restaurant.
Bottom line.. this place is not a "hit or miss"; it's more like a "near miss or total miss". Two stars for the atmosphere. Posted on April 13, 2015 |

★★★☆☆ Nice atmosphere. Good to see a halal restaurant invest in the appearance of their establishment. I just wish they would invest in the quality of their cooking now. Nothing special about the food. It is a bit pricey. I might try this place again to give it another chance, but not about to go out of my way to get there. Posted on January 3, 2015 |

★☆☆☆☆ worst service, pricey and terrible food. I noticed several black couples came in and staff never even went to greet or serve them. Black couples then left and probably though staff was racist though I believe staff is simply amazingly incompetent. I will not be back. Posted on November 11, 2014 |

★★★☆☆ I discovered this place about a year ago and was really impressed with the whole package. When I told friends and colleagues about it I had to convince them to try it as most of them had done so already and really did not have anything positive to say about it. When they returned, they told me that that the place had in fact improved.
We had two or three catered events there and attended twice as many as well. Also, I had them cater for parties at my home two, maybe three times. I also attended a chand raat even there, as well as several times during the last Ramzan.
I am no longer eager to go there and here are my thoughts:
When they had Mr. Saeed running the place - the time period that I went there often and held parties there, the place ran exceptionally well. Although somewhat of a micro-manager and short on patience, Saeed made sure that the customer was satisfied and got what Saeed thought was best for the customer. He was patronizing but it worked well for the restaurant. He also kept the staff on their feet, and the food was also fresh. I understand that Saeed has left the place for good. The two original waiters try their best but English and punctuality is not their strong suite. I mention punctuality because once we were there for brunch and had to actually wait outside the place for the two to show up and let us in. Another time we showed up for dinner buffet 15 minutes after opening time and the food was not set up. They actually started moving - very slowly - to put the food out after we seated ourselves. Their excuse was that the owner does not want food put out unless they have customers in the restaurant. I didn't think that sounded right.
Another, actually quite well-known fact about this place is that they only have the good stuff on the weekends. Starting from lunch on Friday, you can expect them to serve the meat dishes that Pakistanis crave like paya, nihari, and other such dishes. On weekdays they have the vegetarian curries and dished like daal-gosht perhaps to cater to their non-meat eating customers.
Also the food quality and variety lacking now. I have been there many many times and if for nothing else, I will not go back because they have nothing new to offer to me, and I am tired of the same old slow moving and unexcited staff, either staring at their women customers or trying to catch a nap. Talk about staring, the two male waiters are shameless when it comes to locking their beads on your female family or friends. The fact that they seldom have much to do other than stand around and stare makes it worse.
Anyway, back to the food: If you read the reviews or talk to others who have eaten there is HIT OR MISS. Miss will include last night's food, which may even make you sick. The owner seems uninterested. He will pull up in his 7-series BMW, make a few phone calls and disappear. It is mostly the uninterested staff that runs that place and they seem to care less about food quality and good customer service.
Because I have eaten there when things used to be good, I will give them an average rating, but I am not interested in returning and neither are any of my friends or family. Posted on February 1, 2014 |

★★★☆☆ I've been to this place quite a few times, they have buffet both in Lunch and Dinner. Place is clean and spacious, but food taste is average. They need to change their buffet items more regularly. Posted on March 31, 2013 |

★☆☆☆☆ Unfortunately we had a very poor experience. This place is totally not like what they claim on their ads. Yes, the ambiance is nice but service is weak and food is awful. Whole family got very sick from eating the food. I got serious food poisoning was throwing up all night. We ordered carry out. The front greeter could not understand English very well so he could not understand when we asked for a take out menu. Had to call a manager. Because it was slow, other staff were really bored. One was trying to sleep with her head down on one of the booth tables (very unprofessional) while others were playing on their phones. They totally messed up another customers order who was dining in. The place looks nice but the food is terrible and staff doesn't hold a very professional decorum. Don't think I will ever return. It's too bad because there is a lack of nice Pakistani restaurants in that area. Posted on October 25, 2012 |

★★★★★ We have been there twice now and have been satisfied each time. Nice location and the restaurant is clean, nicely decorated and has a great ambience. Impossible to match this with any other local desi restaurant. Food quality and taste was excellent. Posted on October 21, 2012 |

★★★☆☆ I've been here twice so far. Once for Iftar and once for a lunch buffet. Here are my thoughts:
AR has decent food, average prices, average service. It's usually not very crowded during the weekdays (during lunch hours), and the buffet selection could use more variety. I really think they should add butter chicken to the lunch buffet. The service could probably improve, but honestly you can't expect amazing service from a desi restaurant (unfortunately).
With all that being said, I would still return back. The food was decent and it is conveniently located near my workplace. It's relatively well furnished in comparison to most other popular desi restaurants in the area. There's plenty of parking and there's a prayer area (that's pretty boss). I didn't really try any stand out dishes, otherwise I would have rated this higher. Posted on October 12, 2012 |

★★☆☆☆ We went to Allah Rakha based on the TV ads and a friend's recommendation. When we got there on a Saturday evening, we had to wait for a few minutes before anyone acknowledged us and took us to our table. We were asked if we wanted to do the buffet or a la carte, we chose the $13.99 buffet. The waitress brought us our drinks and we headed to the buffet table which consisted of 12 items - one of them being the Naan. There were a few empty dishes and we were told they would be refilled soon. In my first plate, I had some boneless chicken, Daal Maash, and Goat Qorma. The Qorma was the only thing that I liked; everything else was average or tasted like home food and not of restaurant quality. I would say that out of the 11 items, a good half were vegetarian dishes. Now what Pakistani restaurant has so many vegetarian dishes? During the half an hour or so that we were there, not once were our drinks refilled neither did we see the waitress again. The owner or manager walked by and got our used plates. We had to signal the waitress to get us our check. There were only 2 waitresses to serve more than 15-20 tables, so you can imagine the quality and speed of service. I went to the counter to pay for the food and the cashier did not smile or ask how the food or service was, neither did she say thank you. I am a big fan of Halal food and always support new restaurants, but this restaurant was a complete turn-off. I doubt if I'll ever return unless someone invites me for a party. I don't think my money or I will venture there ever again. Posted on September 17, 2012 |

★★★★★ Family went there for Iftar last weekend. It's a very nice atmosphere, the wait staff was prompt. The food was AMAZING! We only have had the buffet. They also have a separate room for prayer. Can't wait to go back! Posted on August 18, 2012 |
