13 Westbourne Grove, Paddington, Greater London W2 5
Khan's was founded in 1977 by Mr. M Y Khan and is still to this day run by the same family. To enter the new Millennium the Khan's family decided to abolish the sale of alcohol, in accordance with healthy eating & healthy drinking, the adopted philosophy of wholesomeness, well-being and recreating the traditional ambience - 'The days of the Raj'. As a result, this has created a more family oriented restaurant for every one to enjoy. The selection of Organic & Halal drinks is vast which includes a selection of Khan's fruit cocktails all created in-house. Renowned for it's high standard and quality of food as all ingredients are bought fresh daily, 100% Halal. The menu is extensive with well over 70 main courses to choose from, all using authentic traditional recipes. Added on November 16, 2002 and last updated 13 years ago

★★★★☆ came here last weekend, after a 3 year absence lol. still same place with decent food. dont know about you, but the chicken jalfrezi is too hot to really enjoy, they refuse to make it milder. rice portions are good but the meat dishes are too small for my liking. very reasonable prices though. would return here to try something else if im in west london again. ★★★☆☆ A few dishes here are pretty good, others are so-so. Lamb korma was tasty and worth a try, but didn't think the biryani was great. The place is popular though so beware that it's sometimes tough to get the attention of your waiter. They have an enormous selection of blended fruit drinks on the menu, prices are fair and overall atmosphere of the restaurant is very family oriented. Posted on February 11, 2011 |

★★★★☆ A very reliable restaurant. Nicely decorated. Food is always to a good standard, especially the Butter Chicken and Lamb Dhansak. Ideal place to go after a long day's shopping in West End. Posted on January 8, 2011 |

★★★★☆ Food- good. Service- good. Deco-poor. Nice place to have a quick meal with the family but could do with bringing into 2010. Old fashioned deco but saying that, food is always good and that's what I'm there for really. Not to stare at the ceilings in awe and have a dry chicken on my plate instead. So I overlook that fact and give it a 4/5. Posted on November 30, 2010 |

★★☆☆☆ Khan's is definitely a restaurant that seems to operate based on some legendary past. The tables are full, scores of people seem to wait for the take away service and its seems that people generally lap up the food. Question for me personally is why? The food is pretty average. Yes they do do good butter chicken, yes the lamb biryani is alright; the mocktails are fairly pleasing on the tongue. But the service levels are pretty bad for the a restaurant that supposedly according to the reviews below serves some of the best food in the civilised world! And according to their website ‘The atmosphere at Khan's is breath taking; the pace is fast and the service faultless, a unique atmosphere that must be experienced to be appreciated’. My wife and I chose Khan’s for iftari. The place was packed but I was pleased that we managed to get a table. However, the order took 30 mins to arrive. In that time the couples either side of us had been promptly served and were already thinking of paying for their food. This for me is the biggest let down – if you’re going out of your way to dine here then I would think twice. There are plenty of better restaurants and many many more who offer a service that makes you want to come back for more. Posted on September 23, 2007 |

★☆☆☆☆ Useless food and service, what a waste of money. Very very bad service, microwave food. It is just the name that's all. Proper English food, no way near Asian food, no spices, just colours and not good at all. I do not agree that nan's and food is freshly cooked and hot. Please do not waste your time and money. Me and my wife love eating out and we have tried no of restaurants, this is one of the worst restaurant every I have tried!!! 0 marks from me. Posted on January 20, 2007 |

★☆☆☆☆ I took my wife here, travelling quite a distance to get there especially. We asked to be sat away from the door and we were put in the furthest corner and forgotten about by a very surly waiter. The staff consistently ignored us, especially when we asked for our order to be taken. They were very unfriendly and sullen and brushed off all our requests for service. Only one waiter actually seemed to be taking orders and he went to those who entered after us first. After waiting for 20 mins during which I constantly asked the waiters for help, we walked out and went to a fast food place where we received brilliant service. The contrast really stood out. We never tasted any food or drinks. Posted on February 21, 2005 |

★★★☆☆ Curries and grills are good enough, Khan's aims at a high turnover which usually means fast service, although they are very very busy so it can sometimes be a bit of a wait... also means they clear up and shoo you away quickly - not great atmosphere - decor is unimpressve and no chance to linger, noisy - feels a bit like a school canteen sometimes. But I still have a soft spot for it and the food IS reasonable and affordable. Posted on February 16, 2005 |

★★★☆☆ Khan's is a not bad place to eat. Service was the real down side to the experience. Took ages! Other than that not a bad place to munch at. Posted on December 19, 2004 |

★★★★☆ At one stage, this was the only desi restaurant in London I would eat at. The tandoori chicken and naan was exceptional. I don't know whether there has been a change of ownership in the last 3 years but the place is not quite the same. From an islamic point of view, the restaurant is more friendly due to stop on sale of alcohol but the restaurant is 20% off its peak. If you do vist make sure you try the chicken jalfrezi. ★★☆☆☆ Having lived in Bayswater for years I returned recently to find the quality of food in this restaurant has slipped. Service was quick but more in a miltary fashion for fast turnover of tables. My chicken dish contained large amounts of fat and when paying 20p less of the 10% service charge added to the bill (in line with our view of the quality) we encountered a rude waiter and manager who refused to accept that the food was not good. We paid the full service charge because it was not worth the effort but I won't return here again. There are plenty of nicer Indian options in London with better food and friendly service. ★★★☆☆ The standard of food at Khans has significantly deteriorated over the years. The food is average, the service is poor and the decor is tacky and dated. A shame really as Khan's used to be a great place to eat.... Posted on October 4, 2004 |

★★★★★ Great location for this restaurant means an equally great atmosphere inside. The food is very tasty - all freshly prepared with a good selection. The juices were perhaps not as nice (particularly in look). Service is good and everything is served pretty quickly. Great for a night out. Posted on August 12, 2004 |

★★★★☆ Hmmm...I remember coming here a few years ago and the food was much better and much tastier, though i suppose a definate plus point is that they dont serve alcholic drinks anymore...Still not bad Posted on April 21, 2004 |

★★★★★ The food is not excellent but pretty good. A busy bustling atmosphere. Good variety of dishes and good value for money. I particularly reccommend the mattar paneer(peas and curd cheese in a creamy curry) and fresh tandoori rotis (light bread). The mint tea here is also good. The owner is mashAlllah, a good brother. Ques can be a bit long though if you go at especially busy times, though otherwise you won't normally have to wait. Overall a good Indian. Posted on April 12, 2004 |

★★★★☆ Food was very Nice. Sometimes gets a bit loud but it feels like your actually in Pakistan/India. Good for Cheap and Cheerful or alternatively for a cosy meal for two. Would go again. GREAT FOR ANYONE WHO WANTS TO TASTE SOME REAL AUTHENTIC ASIAN FOOD, not the stuff thats sold in supermarkets or wannabe asian restaurants. BON APETIT to anyone who visits. ★★★★★ "Friendly and fast service at one of London's best fully Halal restaurants. Located just round the corner from Bayswater, Khan's provide excellent food at a great price. Waiter service is fast and efficient. There is a great selection of Indian and Pakistani dishes including many vegetarians dishes too. They can also cater for large groups. ★★★☆☆ Khan's is a well-known London restaurant, mentioned in all the guidebooks as a place where you could get a whole tandoori chicken or something for less than £5. Anyone who was ever a student in London must have eaten here. It's one of the few places that is both affordable and can accommodate groups of about 30 at a time. Where better to celebrate a party, especially now that they have stopped serving alcohol, making the restaurant more properly halal. (Full marks to Khan's for doing this, and they deserve our support). You're either a fan of the food or you're not. Some people don't like it much at all. While I find a lot of the things on the menu passable (especially that thing my husband is always ordering. Some kind of lamb passanda something or the other), the butter chicken, in a generous creamy, add-five-pounds-to-your-hips sauce, is simply the best! Mop it up with the freshly baked nan with just enough melting ghee - yummy. I also really like the barbecued prawn dish, which is called a Kind Prawn Bhuna or something. There's a lot else on the menu, and a range of non-alcoholic drinks to choose from, but for me Khan's is all about that butter chicken. Definitely the best in London, if not the world!
